Teamsters Stand With Starbucks Baristas
Teamsters Joint Council 42 President Victor Mineros joined striking Starbucks baristas in Newport Beach, reaffirming the union’s full support as workers continue their unfair labor practices strike. Mineros told the crowd that the Teamsters “have their backs every step of the way” and made it clear that Teamsters will not cross the picket line and will stand with these workers until they win the contract they deserve.
Baristas brought their strike directly to the doorstep of Starbucks’ new chief executive, whose luxury office is located just minutes from his home. While CEO Brian Niccol has received $96 million in compensation, a private Gulfstream jet and a premium office suite, Starbucks workers continue to struggle with low pay, inconsistent scheduling and rising living costs.
Workers across Southern California — and nationwide — are rising up for fair wages, respect on the job and a voice in their workplace. The Teamsters stand shoulder to shoulder with all Starbucks workers fighting for dignity and a fair contract.
When workers fight, workers win.
No contract. No coffee.
